Patients are allocated on admission according to the presenting complaint, and reallocated only on the written instruction of the attending physician.

The allocation below is the complete standing list. Ward letters are not reused and not reassigned.

Allocation is recorded on the intake form and does not change the patient number. A patient transferred between wards retains the file opened at admission.
